Greenstone Inn: ...And down they come

With the destruction of the cottages along the bluff and the Hub Tower the Kobelco excavator made quick work of it, and the pile of munched wood grew quickly. Sadly, I had to work on the day they took down both the cottage and tower. With the office now gone, the excavator chews through the last old cottage, and they are but a memory After first biting big chunks out of the first and second stories, the ole' Kobelco gave a couple tugs on the roof and the once proud tower was on its lips. (Photo courtesy of Don Heist) Buildings now gone, and all that's left is a gigantic pile of smashed wood. Gone are the days of the gigantic burn pile, now all wood is recycled via this humongous chipper brought in by the James Dalton Co. They tore into the pile and soon the neighborhood was filled with noise and dust. The calm after the storm Another great sunset bathed the now vacant site, which made our new "view experience" even more marvelous. On to the excavation!
