Baskets, Bowls and Boxes - a Benefit for the Arts

During the month of November the Newport Visual Arts Center (VAC) is hosting an exhibition/fund raising benefit for the arts. The theme of the exhibit is Baskets, Bowls and Boxes, and features these creations made by Lincoln County artists. The funds raised will be split, with 50% going to the artist, and the remaining monies being split evenly between the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) and the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation (PCHDF) for their “Arts Care” program. This program brings volunteer artists to places where patients are undergoing dialysis or other such time consuming treatments to bring them hands on art projects.
This fund raiser is structured as a silent auction where folks can bid on the artwork, and there will be a party and auction closure on Nov. 27, from 2pm to 4pm at the VAC. There is also a 16 drawer Japanese box which is being raffled, and it will be awarded at the party as well.
Shown above are the works we put up for sale. My wife, Tami’s Felted Wool Möbius Baskets. and my Shaker style End Table/ Wine and Cigar Case.
So, come buy some original art for Christmas gifts and benefit the arts, the patients, and your local artists; help preserve the spirit of giving.
