The Celts Come to the Greenstone

The Greenstone Inn Gallery is hosting a Celtic Art Show running through June. This show is in conjunction with the “Celtic Festival and Highland Games” coming to Newport on Sept. 10-12, 2011. I’ve had a great time putting this show together.
Photos from Howard Morishige and Richard LaFond are featured, with pics and comments from their trips to the Emerald Isles.
Interpretive plaques divide the show into sections; “Castles & Cathedrals,” “Celtic Music,” “Sacred Stones.” etc. with drawings and photos fitting into those themes.
One display focuses on how the Celtic artists fashioned those intricate knotwork designs you find thruout the Celtic nations.Richard LaFond tells us about running into the middle of the struggles between England and the IRA. This too is part of the Celtic culture. The Celts have suffered much throughout history.Hmm! ROCKS... my favorite! So... book a room at the Greenstone Sept. 10-12 and and enjoy a Celtic experience right outside your door. It’s going to be a great festival.
